What we cannot do?

1. Under the PIPA (Privacy of Information Protection Act) we are not permitted to ask anyone if they have been vaccinated or not. This is a personal choice and is confidential.

It is important that all of the 麻豆视频 community understands that we may have differences of opinion on masking and vaccinations. Indeed, there are extreme thoughts on both of these within our community. However, these views should not become an issue that tears our community apart. We must be respectful of one another鈥檚 views but still value each other as God鈥檚 creation and brothers and sisters in Christ. We therefore ask you to practice patience, understanding and respect for all those in our community and learn ways we can better love one another, even in our differences. As stated last year, which worked very well for 麻豆视频, 麻豆视频鈥檚 policy is to follow the directives given to us by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education.

Learning about COVID-19 & Schools

COVID-19 Safety & BC Schools: What we know so far

We are continuing to learn about COVID-19 in School-Aged Children:

  • Fewer school-aged children听(5 to 18 years old) have tested positive for COVID-19 compared to adults. Younger children make up a smaller proportion of cases than older children.
  • Serious COVID-19 outcomes are less common in school-aged children
  • COVID-19 virus has a relatively low case rate among school-aged children

COVID-19 Variants

It is normal for viruses to change over time, leading to new versions or variants. New variants have been identified since the beginning of the pandemic. COVID-19 variants have been detected across BC, including some people who attend school. So far, these cases are only a small proportion of all COVID-19 cases in the province.

The new variants spread the same way as the original virus, but some COVID-19 variants spread more easily. Because of this, it is even more important to continue to follow the health and safety measures in place in schools.听More information on COVID-19 variants is available听.

The PICS Study: Personal Impacts of COVID-19 Survey

BC Children鈥檚 Hospital Research Institute is doing a survey to understand more about the thoughts, feelings and actions of people living through this pandemic. Anyone over the age of 8 can participate, and the researchers are interested in hearing from children directly. Learn more听.
